Thursday, July 15, 2010

The Berks County Industrial Development Authority (BCIDA) has officially re-named the I-78 Bethel Industrial Park to Berks Park 78. In addition to the name change, the BCIDA has hired the Blue Rock Construction team to handle the construction management of infrastructure work set to begin on the site.

The BCIDA has a high level of community commitment to business and economic growth.  “The BCIDA’s decision to rename the industrial park is more than just a name change; this symbolized their ongoing commitment to successfully market this property in order to attract businesses and ultimately jobs to this area,” said Jon Scott, President & CEO of Berks Economic Partnership.

The BCIDA was created with the purpose of promoting and developing commercial, industrial and manufacturing enterprises and encouraging employment within the County of Berks.  The Authority is authorized to issue Industrial Development Bonds (IDB's) to manufacturing companies for qualified capital projects.  A five-member Board appointed by the County Commissioners for staggered terms governs the BCIDA.
